[January 05, 2010] HIM Artistes Gather for Year-End Dinner, Don in Gold & Sillver to Celebrate the Lunar New Year

HIM Records is into its 10th year, and held its grand annual year-end dinner in Taipei the day before, to show appreciation to its dedicated workers. As HIM always value their end-year celebration very much, and in order to allow all artistes to attend, they have scheduled for the event half a year ago, resulting in rejecting many commercial performances and publicity activities. HIM spokesperson said, “Our company values the tradition of holding the year-end dinner very much. This is possibly the only time within a day all our artistes can gather for a celebration. Hence despite the opportunity costs involved, we have to reject many performance invitations.” On the day of the celebrations, Judy Zhou Ding Wei was having high fever and flu, and had to even go to the hospital to be put on drip. But he still rushed back to the celebrations to show his support. Although he was not feeling well, he still put on a good performance to bring up the mood of the event.

HIM’s Rock Band – Power Station and Heavenly Female Pop Group – S.H.E, have grown with the company over the years. Currently the company has a total of 21 artistes, and has been making profits annually. Last year, HIM also expanded its office space. With the brand name of HIM becoming more established, many capable and attractive artistes also joined its family, such as “Street Fighter” – Tank, “Chinese Pop Music Boy Band” – Fahrenheit, Xing Guang Bang’s Yoga Lin, Peter Pan, Judy Zhou, Stanly Xu, Ring Xu etc, Jeno Liu from Super Girls competition and also the contestants from the recent Xing Guang 5th series, Singapore’s Olivia Ong, and also Dylan Kuo who will be developing his career into the drama arena. With the many artistes under its wing, HIM is developing its business tracks internationally.

During HIM’s year-end dinner, all the artistes attended the event under the theme of “Gold & Silver”. When they all gathered round to take a family photo, it was indeed a big “effort”. S.H.E said jokingly, “Now our family is getting so much bigger. But luckily we are the ‘seniors’ so everyone will let us stand in the centre when taking photos and we can also direct everyone.” As there were really too many artistes present, Ella took the initiative to become the director on the spot, teaching everyone to pose with their red packets to the left, and then to the right in unison. Meanwhile the pioneer-artistes of HIM, Power Station’s Yan Zhi Lin also brought his family along to the celebrations. His little daughter immediately became the centre of attraction, winning attention over S.H.E and Fahrenheit. Meanwhile Jeno Liu, who is HIM’s “gem” in the China market, was unable to make it for the celebrations due to work arrangements. However she sent her well wishes to everyone in Taipei.

Despite the economic downturn of the music record market in recent times, HIM artistes and crew members have worked hard to bring about positive results for the company. During the celebrations, other than the bosses, directors and sponsors who offered red packets, the artistes also donated part of their earnings of over hundreds of millions worth as prizes to reward everyone’s efforts. In response to everyone’s curiosity of the year-end bonus received by HIM staff, HIM International General Manager He Yanling said, “Last year was a bad year for selling records. But with everyone’s efforts, our growth has been 10%. To thank everyone for their hard work, our year-end bonus will be between 3-6 months. In addition, we will be sponsoring our staff to Bali for a 5-day-4-night trip.”

HIM is into its 10th year now and their year-end dinner’s theme was “HIM Golden Melodies”. Xing Guang 5th series artistes and fellow colleagues put together some of HIM’s songs in 2009 to bring about climax after climax for the evening.
