Chun in Arena 27 Degrees October 2008 edition

Part 1
Title: Featuring Wu Zun Personal Interview
In the last issue, we asked him about the recording of their latest single “Treasure”, this time we’ll ask him some questions based on the lyrics of the song.
Q. “Treasure” is the second single CD in Japan, and it’s about falling in love. What is your ideal way of telling your feeling to a woman?
A. Before I tell my feeling to a woman, I’ll drop hints to her. I know eventually I should tell how I feel face to face, but before doing so, I’ll call her, email her, or write a letter to her telling my feeling step by step. I don’t know if it’s my “ideal” way (laugh), but I think I’ll do so.
Q. So you’re gonna tell her bit by bit.
A. Because I’ll be nervous how she feels about me. If she doesn’t respond to my hints at all, I’ll give up. However, if I can sense she also likes me, then I’ll tell her my feeling with courage, though I can’t completely deny the possibility that I hold hands before telling her how I feel, so…it’s difficult (laugh).
Q. You don’t know until the time comes (laugh). Okay, next question. In the lyrics of “Treasure” there’s a word “Mujaki (innocent / child of nature). Who do you think is the most Mujaki in Fahrenheit?
A. I think all of us have that character. In my case, I’m from a small country, so there’re still many things in Taiwan which I’ve never seen before. So every time I encounter something new, Calvin teases me saying “Haven’t you seen that before at all?” or “You’re so innocent”. But honestly I think Calvin is the one who is more innocent (laugh).
Q. When someone meets you for the first time, what kind of impression do you think they’ll have toward you?
A. It’ll depend on the person, because if he/she is calm and quiet type, my attitude will be the same. If he/she is cheerful and active type, then I’ll become like that.
Q. Then if people have a long relationship with you, do they surprise something about you?
A. They say “So you really eat a lot” (laugh).
Q. Do you like eating since you were a child?
A. Yes (laugh). So I was plump at that time. When I was 7 – 8 years old, we often ate out. When a waiter served dishes at a restaurant, I always tried to keep all the dishes in front of me (gestures like standing up and putting his arms around dishes protectively) before my parents started eating. I was often scolded by my father. When I think back, I was really like a little pig (laugh).
Q. I guess you have lots of “business trip” as an idol. Is there anything you always do once you enter into a hotel room?
A. This is nothing special, but I always check emails and send replies as much as I can.
Q. How do you sleep?
A. I lie face up.
Q. Do you toss around in bed?
A. No. Rather, I sleep still (laguh). Until recently I was an untidy sleeper, but now I’m not like that anymore. I don’t know why (laugh).
Q. Tell me about your private room. Do you clean up?
A. I don’t like to leave my room messy. Even if I’m exhausted, I clean up when I come home.
Q. What kind of item do you keep the most in your room?
A. Let me see…clothes maybe? And letters and presents from fans. As for the letters I keep them in boxes.
Q. So you neatly display them. How about the dvd or video tapes of programs you appeared in?
A. I have a part of them in my room, though I send most of them to my family’s house in Brunei, and ask them to keep.
Q. Do you see those tapes?
A. I’d love to, but I don’t have time. On most of my drama or other programs, I’ve seen them only once.
Q. You’ve appeared in many TV programs. If you turn on the TV and see you in the show, do you watch it?
A. Yeah, as I’m curious. Oh, but I won’t watch if there’re other people around me. It’s embarrassing (laugh).
Q. If you see other Fahrenheit members on TV, do you watch?
A. Yes. I’d like to know what kind of project they’re doing and how they act.
Q. Next question is the once we’ve already asked to other members of Fahrenheit.
Do you have anything in common with Arron?
A. We both love basketball.
Q. We asked the same question to Arron. Can you guess his answer?
A. I can’t imagine.
Q. He said “we both try to enjoy the current moment”.
A. I’m glad to hear that.
Q. Then how about with Jiro?
A. Training. Both of us take good care of body and style. Sometimes we do exercise together.
Q. I remember you did an arm wrestling match with him.
A. Yeah. We did it quite seriously as people cheered us seriously (laugh).
Q. Finally how about with Calvin?
A, We’re both independent, as we’ve studied abroad before.
Q. Actually it’s similar to what Calvin answered to us. He also said “How Wu Chun feels now living in Taiwan must be similar to how I felt in Canada”.
A. Ah~ (shaking his head), once I get back to Taiwan I have to correct him. Of course we’ve studied abroad, but “now I’m in Taiwan alone and not studying but ‘working’, so I’m totally different from you” (laugh). He teases me a lot, so next time you interview with him, please remember to say him “You’re so innocent” (laugh)!!

Title: Serial article of Fahrenheit — No.10 Polaroid diary and Hong Kong press conference –
Article in yellow — behind the scene –
summary:
The magazine team asked him to take his photo using Polaroid, but it took long time for him to decide how to shoot, and the result is…3 out of 6 photos were related to food!
Article in pink — Q&A –
Q. What was the delicious Japanese food you’ve had recently?
A. Kobe Beef. I want to eat it more often, but it’s expensive (laugh).
Q. What Japanese did you learn recently?
A. Daijobu (I’m okay / no problem). Because I heard it a lot.
Q. What words made you happy recently?
A. I met a palm reader and he said I have really good lines.
Q. What conversation with your family do you remember the most?
A. My father told me not to make myself stress out too much.
Q. If what you used to be saw you now, what kind of message would he give you?
A. Mm, I don’t know. Maybe “Not too bad. Hang in there!” (laugh).
Article in blue — short interview –
Q. When we interviewed with Calvin before, he said “I don’t get why Chun loves banana so much”. What’s your answer?
A. (Wu Chun started explaining quite seriously) Firstly I love fruits. Out of them, banana has a great deal of nutrition. Besides it’s convenient to take anywhere. The best thing is that banana is easy to eat (laugh) cause I often become hungry.
Q. So you really bring banana everywhere (laugh). At home as well?
A. Of course. My future dream is to plant banana trees in my garden. I love banana (laugh).
Q. The title of the latest single CD is Treasure. Tell me your treasure.
A. It’s a photo of me with my parents. We took it long time ago, but I keep it in my bag so I can always take a look.
Q. Does it make you feel at home?
A. Yeah, I feel warm.
Q. What’s the best pic you’ve taken recently?
A. Lately I often take pictures of buildings and architecture. Japanese buildings are well designed. I took many pictures of them.
Q. Do you keep those pictures in albums? Neatly?
A. Yes, to see them again in the future. I don’t know how many pictures I have in total because they’re too many (laugh). I’ve taken bunch of pictures after entering this industry. Lately the subject tends to be scenery and surroundings, rather than people.
Q. What’s your worry now?
A. The fact that my father gets old. I want to stay by his side as long as I can.
Article in orange — Hong Kong press conference report –
summary:
During the conference, the Olympic opening ceremony was held at the same time.
No wonder Wu Chun, Jiro and Arron couldn’t concentrate on the photo shooting.
While everyone was watching the Chinese athletes marching, somebody said
“No athletes from Brunei…”. Then Chun stood up and started marching, and everyone
burst into laughing.
